Terms and Categories

On the following pages you will find information on terms and categories used in the 'Graffiti in Place Database'. These are grouped according to the three search (i.e. 'browse') options you can use to access the graffiti data: date, location, motif. When searching for graffiti of a specific period or a specific motif, keep in mind that research is ongoing. Not all graffiti entities have been fully described and annotated, and some may need to be re-assigned to a different date or motif category as research progresses.
